There is a new smartphone on the Indian market that aims to compete with the established Redmi Note 10 Pro Max and the upcoming OnePlus Nord CE. Vivo’s sub-brand IQOO launched a Snapdragon 768G powered 5G phone in the country at a very attractive price point.
The phone called IQOO Z3 was first introduced in China in March. It has an interesting mix of specs, including a Full HD + 120Hz LCD display, 55W fast charge, and a whopping 4,400mAh battery. You also get a triple camera setup consisting of a 64 MP primary shooter, an 8 MP ultra wide sensor, and a 2 MP macro camera. A USB-C port is available for charging, but the IQOO Z3 also has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
In comparison, the upcoming OnePlus Nord CE will have a 90 Hz display. However, it will use an AMOLED panel instead of an LCD panel on the IQOO Z3. The processor on the OnePlus phone is said to be the Snapdragon 750G, which is slower than the Snapdragon 765G. The Snapdragon 768G on the IQOO Z3 is 15% faster than the 765G, so you get a much better processor on the IQOO phone than you can expect from the Nord CE.
If you compare the new phone to the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, you will find that the IQOO Z3 gives you a more powerful 5G capable device for almost the same price. However, the Xiaomi phone also has a 120 Hz AMOLED display, a higher-resolution 108MP main camera and a larger 5,020 mAh battery. If the charging speed is important to you, the Redmi phone is a little slower than the IQOO phone with 33W charging.
That said, with a starting price of Rs.19,990 for the model with 6GB of RAM + 128GB of storage, the IQOO Z3 is pretty good business on paper. Of course, we have to test the phone to see how it works in real life.
In the meantime, the OnePlus Nord CE is expected to hit the market in India for 22,999 rupees. To compete with that, the IQOO Z3 has a model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage priced at 22,990 rupees. There is also an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of the phone available for Rs 20,990.
