We already knew Apple’s future iPhone 12 could ship without the white wired earphones We are used to seeing with all new iPhones in the box. But now it looks like the iPhone 12 will arrive without a power adapter.
Well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who predicted last month that the iPhone 12 would arrive without wired EarPods, is now assuming that the power supply will also be available separately on Sunday, according to a 9to5Mac report.
Kuo, who was unavailable for comment, says removing the accessories in the box helps offset the cost of the iPhone 12’s 5G network components, the report said. That would help Apple sell the iPhone 12 at a price similar to the iPhone 11.
9to5Mac adds that omitting the earbuds and the power adapter can also reduce the size of the package, reducing freight costs.
Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Kuo’s prediction. And although it hasn’t confirmed the names of upcoming phones or when they were released, we expect them sometime in the fall.
