The upcoming iPhone 12 Pro is expected to be released have a ProMotion display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz according to EverythingApplePro. Face recognition improvements and an updated camera are also expected.

The annual iPhone update in autumn is expected to be called iPhone 12 and has three levels with different functions. If the report is correct, the iPhone 12 Pro is expected to have a 6.1-inch screen that has the ProMotion display with a higher refresh rate. The larger Pro Max with an expected 6.7-inch screen would also see the higher refresh rate, while the base iPhone 12 would have a 60 Hz display.

Most phones are updated at 60 frames per second or 60 Hz, but other phones like the Galaxy S20 and OnePlus 8 Pro are updated at 120 Hz. With a higher refresh rate, a phone feels faster and smoother when scrolling through websites and apps.

The expected improvements in face recognition are expected to support a wider field of view so that the device can be unlocked from more angles. The camera is expected to receive an improved LIDAR for faster autofocus and image stabilization, and a telephoto lens with increased magnification.

Apple has not confirmed the names of the phones. The upcoming cell phones are expected to be called iPhone 12, 12 Pro and 12 Max. They are still on schedule, the latest reports say otherwise. And there’s a possibility that Apply will delay the resumes of the iPhone 11 phones.

Apple didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
