Hyundai Palisade production halted over parts shortage
The interruption in production should not affect the United States.

Production of Hyundai palisade, the brand’s new three-row SUV, has come to a standstill in South Korea after a shortage of parts.
Just Auto first reported that production of the large SUV was discontinued on June 15 and cited a potential supply chain problem after a supplier employee died after the contract was signed COVID-19. The production break should also be the Genesis GV80which is slated to launch in the US this summer.
A Hyundai representative confirmed the production shutdown earlier this week, but said that the pause should have no impact on U.S.-spec Palisade models. The automaker did not respond immediately when asked about an update of the situation, and Genesis did not immediately respond to a request for a comment on the GV80 production.
The palisade had its best selling month in March just before The US economy has largely been closed slow the spread of COVID-19. The more restrictions are lifted – even if the virus continues to spread – the more we have seen fairly rapid recovery in the auto industry. However, pre-pandemic sales estimates are likely to vary by a few million units.
As for the GV80, Mark Del Rosso, CEO of Genesis, told Roadshow SUV had almost 10,000 pre-orders to his name from May. He also indicated that demand for the model exceeded expectations and emphasized that the launch was nothing more than smooth sailing without foreseeable problems with vehicle supply.
