TL; DR
- New alleged spy images of the Huawei Watch 3 series have been leaked.
- The recordings show Harmony OS, including the home screen and notification shadow.
- Huawei will launch the Watch 3 series later this week.
The Huawei Watch 3 series will make its grand debut later this week along with Harmony OS. But shortly before the start, a new set of alleged spy images of the clocks emerged.
Speckled by ITHomeThe publication notes that “a number of digital bloggers” have posted obvious snapshots of the Huawei Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro in an offline store. However, the original “Netizen” source is not cited.
Even so, the espionage recordings show some interesting features. For one, Huawei will apparently keep the round face of the previous Watch GT 2 line, but only use a button on the top right. Below that is a secondary flat button. The overall result is a slimmer facade.
We also get an insight into the rumored packaging with the insignia “Powered by Harmony OS”. The operating system itself also seems to be visible on the clocks. The start screen is visible all at once and contains the time, date and direct links to apps. In another case, the notification shadow is visible, indicating missed calls and WeChat messages. Another setting also shows how the watch reads, possibly for SpO2.
We’re not looking at the Apps menu, so there’s no way to compare it to previous UI leaks. Even so, Harmony OS doesn’t seem to be bringing much visual differences to Lite OS on the clocks. A rumored perk could be the availability of more apps – something previous Huawei watches have painfully overlooked.
Huawei will introduce the Watch 3 series along with its new operating system on June 2nd. So expect more specific details to come out later this week.
