- Huawei announced a new large format fitness tracker called Huawei Band 6.
- The Huawei Band 6 is a renamed Honor Band 6, although the two companies are separating.
- The new fitness tracker offers 14 days of battery life and all-day blood oxygen monitoring.
A few months ago, Honor officially split from its parent company Huawei, although the DNA that linked the two can still be seen today. Look no further than the new Huawei Band 6, a fitness tracker that is essentially a renamed Honor Band 6.
Honor’s device was the recipient of one of Android Authority CES 2021 Top Picks Awards, and for good reason. The large-screen form factor and two-week battery life are standout features that aren’t too common in the budget fitness tracker space.
The Huawei Band 6 offers the same large 1.47-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, making it much more spacious than a conventional fitness tracker. Despite its size, it weighs only 18 g. The Huawei Band 6 in particular also has similarities with the Huawei Watch Fit. However, the Band 6 is a bit smaller and has better battery life.
A large case can accommodate a large battery. The Huawei Band 6 can last up to 14 days with “average” use or up to 10 days with intensive use on a single charge.
The fitness tracker has an optical heart rate sensor and all-day SpO2 monitoring. Monitoring blood oxygen during the day is usually something we see on high-end health-conscious devices. Hence, it is great to see Huawei include them in Volume 6. You will also be warned if your blood oxygen levels are too low during the day.
It can also track your sleep and show your heart rate during sleep, phases of sleep, and breathing rate. You can also find Menstrual Cycle Tracking here, which women can use to track their periods, manage their pregnancy plans, and much more.
After all, the band supports a total of 96 training modes. Six modes can be tracked automatically: indoor and outdoor running, indoor and outdoor walking, elliptical and rowing machine. Huawei says it can also track 11 “professional” modes, including running, cycling, and … jumping rope. We asked Huawei for more details to see exactly what that means.

However, don’t expect too many smartwatch features. The Huawei Band 6 offers basic notification mirroring as well as a remote camera shutter and the ability to control your phone’s music. However, third-party apps are not supported.
The Huawei Band 6 will soon be available in Graphite Black, Amber Sunrise, Sakura Pink, and Forest Green colors, but that’s all we know right now. There’s no word on pricing or availability yet, but the Honor Band 6 will soon be available for around $ 35. It is possible that the portable Huawei will hit the market at roughly the same price.
