How to turn on Apple Watch
Most users only need to turn on their device once. Whether yours is brand new or worn, it takes just one step and a little patience to turn it on.
- Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo (this may take a few moments).

How to turn off Apple Watch
There aren’t many reasons why you need to turn off your device, but it’s easy to do. The only real trick to remember is that it can’t be turned off while it is charging, so make sure you disconnect first.
- Disconnect your Apple Watch if it’s charging.
- Press and hold the side button until you see the Power off and Emergency SOS sliders.
- Drag the Power off slider to the right.
It’s not necessary to turn off the Apple Watch overnight, but it can be a good idea if you expect it to be inactive for an extended period of time.
