July 4th is the best time of year to take pictures of fireworks. However, as everyone will tell you, it is much easier said than done. Fireworks are bright, dynamic, and unpredictable and can be too much for many cameras. Therefore, only a versatile and really reliable camera system is enough.

The OnePlus 9 series can deliver such a camera and some more. The impressive camera array was jointly developed by OnePlus and Hasselblad, which means there’s quite a bit of firepower behind the lenses. Enough firepower for the OnePlus 9 series to have the potential to be your perfect fireworks companion.

Fireworks last only a few fleeting moments each year, so you have to find a way to be in the right place at the right time. Before the sun goes down and the crowds start to flock, you’ll probably want to do a bit of exploring your location.

Make sure you know where the fireworks are starting from, then grab all of your photo essentials. You may want to consider a tripod for your OnePlus 9 so you can set a slower shutter speed for the best results. Don’t forget to find a nice open space too. Finally, you’ll likely want some wide-angle shots as well as some zoomed-in options.

Once you’ve locked your location, it’s time to familiarize yourself with the powerful features of the OnePlus 9 Pro. Nightscape is your best friend when shooting in dark environments, and the 50 MP ultra-wide angle lens has enough pixels to capture every detail. Don’t worry if you can’t decide on Nightscape right away. it activates with the push of a button to capture the fireworks before they fade away.

OnePlus chose the Sony IMX766 sensor for its 50 MP ultra-wide shooter, which means you can capture distortion-free still images without losing the natural glow. If you want to take your camera even further, then you should try the Hasselblad Pro mode. It allows you to adjust important settings just like a real digital camera: ISO, shutter speed and more are right at your fingertips.

Since you want to shoot fireworks, you should probably keep your ISO low. This controls your sensitivity to light. Anywhere between 100 and 200 is enough. If you want to capture a long and flowing light effect, you need to slow down the shutter speed. You will almost certainly want a tripod, however, as the slow shutter speed exaggerates shaking hands.

If 4K isn’t enough, use 8K

If you’re not sure if you’re fast enough to capture perfect stills, you can always capture the fireworks right on your OnePlus 9. While 4K is likely sharp enough for most phones, the OnePlus 9 series goes a step further with 8K video. It’s as sharp as a phone, and you can always slow down your video to take perfect photos later.

The OnePlus 9 Pro also has a 4K 120fps mode that allows it to record really sharp slow-motion videos. This device is currently the only phone in the US that has this capability.

Don’t forget to enjoy the occasion
