How to Make an Instagram Business Account

How to Make an Instagram Business Account 1

When I worked at a marketing agency, one of my jobs was to create Instagram accounts for our clients who had never used social media before.

Most of the time, these customers quickly realized how helpful Instagram can be for their business.

With an estimated 140 million monthly active companies on Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp and over 200 million Instagram users visiting at least one company profile every day, this makes sense.

In fact, 60% of people say they discover new products on Instagram, and a third of the most viewed stories are from companies.

Ultimately, it’s impossible to ignore your company’s success on Instagram.

In this post, you will learn how to create an Instagram business account, how to switch to a business account and switch from a business account to a personal account, and the advantages of a business account.

New data: Instagram engagement in 2020

1. Download the Instagram app.

To get started, you need to download the Instagram app on your phone or visit the Instagram website.

2. Sign in.

Next, fill out the form with your email address (make sure you choose a business email address), company name, username, and password.

You can also log into Facebook. If you have a work Facebook account, this might be a good option.

It is important to note that your username should most likely be your company name and your password should follow all recommended guidelines (including a number, special characters, etc.).

3. Switch to a business account.

After you have set up a profile, you can switch it to a business account.

To do this, go to your profile and click on the three lines in the top right corner. Then scroll down, click on “Account” and select “Switch to Business Account”.

When you get to this point you will see another option to switch to a “Creator” account. Creator accounts are intended to be used by influencers, public figures, or content creators.

If you are a company that sells a product or service, a business account is the right option.

4. Complete your profile.

At this point, you’re all set up with a business account, but you’re not done yet. Before you can start promoting your social media, you need to complete your profile.

To do this, select a profile photo. Your profile picture is usually a variation of your logo so that your audience can easily see it.

Next, you need to write your bio and fill in your company information. This includes your website, hours of operation, and contact information.

5. Post content.

Before you can promote your account, it is important to post some pictures first. Maybe you can write an introduction or write a hello post.

When you interact with and follow people, they are likely to visit your account. You want something to be seen that explains who you are as a company.

6. Link your Facebook company page.

If you haven’t decided on your Facebook business account, it’s time to link your account here.

This is an important step as you will need a Facebook business page to be able to use some of Instagram’s business tools.

To link your account, click on the three lines in the top right corner. Then click on “Settings” and “Business”. Now you can click on “Connect Facebook Page”. To do this, you have to be logged in to Facebook.

7. Follow people.

Your profile is essentially ready to go. Invite your Facebook followers to follow you on Instagram to get started on Instagram.

You should also start following people to get the ball rolling. However, make sure you are strategic. The people you follow should make sense to your brand.

8. Develop a strategy.

Starting your Instagram business account is just the beginning. Once you are done with your page, it’s time to learn how to use Instagram for marketing.

You should think about the hashtags you are using, the accounts you are targeting, and who you are dealing with.

The HubSpot Academy’s Instagram Marketing Course is the first to learn how to use Instagram for marketing.

Now what if you have a creation account and want to switch to a business account? Or what if you have a business account that you want to switch to? Or do you have a personal account that you want to switch to business?

To do this, follow the steps below.

1. Go to your profile.

The first step in switching your account is to switch to your profile.

2. Tap the Settings gear.

Then click on the three lines in the upper right corner and then on “Settings”.

3. Click Account and Switch to Business Profile.

Now click on “Account” and then on “Switch to company profile”. If you are on a company site and want to switch to a personal account, this button becomes “Switch to Personal Account”.

Regardless of which account you have or which account you want to switch to, you will need to complete this process.

Interestingly, you can also do this by simply clicking on your profile and clicking “Edit Profile”.

At this point you may be wondering “Why do I need a business account?” Below are some of the key benefits of having a business account on Instagram.

1. Action buttons.

With a business Instagram account, you can add action buttons to your profile, such as: B. “Book an appointment”, “Make a reservation” or “Receive tickets”, depending on your requirements.

In fact, there is a variety of scheduling software built into Instagram so you can attach your Instagram business account to your scheduling software.

In addition, you can add CTAs to your profile, including “call” or “email”, to make it easier for your target audience to connect with you.

2. Schedule items automatically.

A great benefit of having a business account is the ability to schedule posts in advance. This is helpful as you can implement and run your strategy without spending every day on the app.

3. Access to analytics.

A company profile gives you access to insights into your followers. You can see a demographic breakdown and see how your target audience is engaging with your posts.

4. Ability to manage ads.

This is one of the best features of Instagram business accounts.

You can promote posts and easily choose your target audience, set a budget, and get started promoting.

You can even partner with influencers by promoting their branded content directly (if labeled as a business partner).

For more information, your Facebook account must be linked in order to use the Facebook ad manager.

5. Swipe up.

Another great feature of a business account is the ability to include swipe-up links if you have 10,000+ followers.

Since Instagram is one of the few platforms that doesn’t allow you to include clickable links in your posts, it’s an excellent way to get your content out there.
