How to download YouTube Music to Wear OS watches
Jimmy Westenberg / Android Authority
As promised, YouTube Music is finally available for Wear OS 3. If you’re a music lover with a heart for a new smartwatch, this is great news from Google.
YouTube Music for Wear OS is available today from the Google Play Store and gives you access to all of your songs and playlists, as well as playback controls. Most importantly, the app supports offline music storage so you can listen to music straight from your device. Like Spotify’s similar move, this offline support is particularly suitable for athletes who want to exercise without their phone in tow.
Unfortunately, most older smartwatches are out of luck. The YouTube Music app is only available on devices with Wear OS 3, which is now limited to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. Fortunately, the new platform should roll out to more devices in the coming months.
