TL; DR
- Honor has announced that it will soon hold its first global launch after Huawei.
- The event is scheduled to take place on August 12th.
- We expect the Honor 50 range and the Honor Magic 3 range.
Honor held its first major launch in China earlier this year, showcasing the Honor 50 series as the first proper post-Huawei devices. Now Honor has announced its first global launch since independence.
The Chinese manufacturer has announced that a global press conference will take place on August 12, 2021. Aside from a save the date graphic sent to the technical media (see above), the company has no venue, airtime, or other details.
So what can you expect from this launch event? For starters, Honor launched the Honor 50 series in China, so we expect these mid-range phones to be featured at the global event.
Honor has also previously tested the launch of the Honor Magic 3 series and confirmed that this line will feature the Snapdragon 888 Plus processor. Therefore, it stands to reason that the Magic 3 celebrates its debut here. The Magic series has always valued outstanding design, with the original offering a smooth, curved design while the Magic 2 provides a slider form factor. We suspect that the Magic 3 line will have its own neat design.
It’s also worth noting that these Honor phones are supposed to support Google services, as the manufacturer has confirmed it’s back on Google. So this could be the closest we can get to new Huawei devices with official Google integration for now.
