Changing your wallpaper is a quick and easy way to customize your smartphone. It’s a similar process on most devices too, while apps also help streamline the process. But when was the last time you changed your phone’s wallpaper, if at all?
We recently asked ourselves this question in a survey. That’s how you answered.
When was the last time you changed your phone’s wallpaper?
Results
This was an incredibly popular poll, with over 4,200 votes cast across the seven choices available. While there is a definite winner, the results are remarkably close.
Slightly more than one in four readers (26%) changed their mobile phone background image “this week”. It was followed by “today” with 19% of the vote, while “last month” received 18% of the vote. It seems that readers who change their wallpaper are more likely to do so at least once a month.
Interestingly, 7% of readers have never changed their wallpaper. Surprisingly, this election was more popular than “in the past 12 months” which received only 6% of the vote.
Judging by the comments, some readers prefer the pitch black approach while others consider changing their phone background to be a daily habit. Read some of the best anecdotes below.

- Albin: I only use my own photos and change every time I like a current shot – the last time was yesterday, but that varies. My launcher has an excellent app drawer with multiple tabs so that the single home screen can be viewed completely neatly with no widgets except for the scrollable icons in the lower taskbar.
- Djanta: It changes automatically every 4 hours.
- Aman: A few minutes ago I change walls about 5 times a day.
