Here’s what you’d pay for the Pixel 6 Pro

Google Pixel 6 Pro camera

Google announced more details about its Pixel 6 series last week, confirming both a standard Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro. Both devices should offer new camera sensors and the in-house tensor chipset.

The Pro model is expected to be the most feature-rich Pixel we’ve seen in a while, largely due to the long overdue inclusion of a versatile triple camera system (with a 4X camera). Google’s Rick Osterloh said the device would be “expensive”. But how much would you be willing to pay? Here is what you told us.

How much would you pay for the Google Pixel 6 Pro?

Results

We asked this question on August 3rd, receiving over 2,200 votes in this poll. The most popular price window people were willing to pay is between $ 900 and $ 999, which is 26.1% of the vote. Closely followed by the price range of $ 800 to $ 899 at 24.7%. Third was the $ 699-799 segment, with 23.1% of respondents saying they would buy the Pixel 6 Pro if it was in this price range.

Just over 19% of voters said they would pay between $ 1,000 and $ 1,199 for the Pixel 6 Pro. The least popular option, however, was the $ 1,200+ price range, as only 6.2% of surveyed readers say they’d spend that much on Google’s Pro device.

More than half of all respondents are willing to spend more than $ 900 on the phone when we combine the segments of $ 900 to $ 999, $ 1,000 to $ 1,199, and more than $ 1,200. Meanwhile, just under 48% of respondents are willing to spend $ 899 or less if we combine the $ 800-899 and $ 699-799 segments.

Either way, it’s worth noting that phones with high-end chipsets, water resistance, wireless charging, and periscope cameras tend not to be affordable flagships. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, for example, costs 1,200 euros in Europe and 70,000 rupees in India. The S21 Ultra now costs $ 1,199.

Remarks

  • Nick V: If Google were smart, they would undercut Apple and Samsung in the flagship arena to start.
  • EeZeEpEe: I estimate 6 Pro with base storage costs $ 999. Whatever the price, there is 0% financing for it. I’m right? lol Now would be nice to have a good trade-in program for previous Pixel owners. Unfortunately, they really don’t give much back value.
  • Wolfie: I would want the normal one. Hope for 900 or less. I wanted it at startup but if they go too high I’ll wait a couple of months
  • roaduardo: If they charge more than 1k, that’s all I need to know to ever get a new pixel. Ask more and offer less. When I use Android it’s one of Sammy’s flagships. They wrap up more than you want or need, but at least they give you more bang for your buck than so many out there.
  • Stanley Kubrick: Even if I voted for the lowest total … in reality, I’m not going to buy the 6. I’m waiting for the 5A to see if I could buy this one.
  • Shawn Hamm: Google’s phones were excellent value with good value for money. Sure, they had compromises as the price suggests, but you still get a lot. They kept trying to bring their phones to the top and the price reflects that. Too bad the rest of the phone doesn’t.
