Here’s what you think of the leaked Galaxy S22 Ultra design
Apparent renders of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra recently broke the cover, revealing a phone that doesn’t look like its predecessors. A new camera array, flatter top and bottom edges, and an S Pen slot make the phone look more like a Note than a Galaxy S flagship.
But what do readers think of the changes? Well, we asked that question in a recent survey and the results are in!
What do you think of the leaked S22 Ultra design?
Results
We received over 1,500 responses to this survey, which was first published on September 28th. Interestingly enough, there is an almost two-thirds majority for the “I like” camp. 65.1% of readers ticked this box, which suggests that they would agree to the redesign of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. However, a sizeable 34.9% of respondents “hates” the design.

We’ve only provided two options, but some in the comments suggest that they don’t fall into any camp, but rather express “indifference” to the design. Note fans will likely agree with the design, especially considering that no Note is set to debut this year. However, those who side with the Galaxy S design evolution of the past few years are likely to feel more concerned.
Your comments
- Yakubu Tukur: There should have been a third option that is “indifferent”.
- Wongwatt: It’s just stupid, please tell me that you don’t think “P for photography” because that would be completely lame.
- sopenco1: A smaller screen AND an uglier design? Thanks, but I’m not trying to downgrade. I will hold onto my Note 20 Ultra until the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra comes out next year.
- paulius: I like this approach. They’ll keep Note fans happy while still reducing the number of different devices they release. Instead of having 3 notes and 3 s series, they have 2 of the s series and 1 note (some kind of). This enables them to place foldable phones in notes.
- John Sims: I like it. The flat top and bottom with rounded edges reminds me of the old Nokia Lumia Windows phones.
That’s it for our Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra design survey. Thank you for your votes and comments. If you have any further thoughts on the obvious design changes or the results of this survey, please feel free to comment below.
