Here’s the Android 12 Easter egg which is quite ‘timely’

TL; DR
- The Android 12 Easter Egg appears in the usual way in the fourth beta of the software.
- The Easter egg involves turning a clock to 12:00 for a Material You surprise.
- It looks different depending on the wallpaper and other color adjustments.
Every year Android fans eagerly await the latest Easter Egg surprise within the software. We saw a lot of beta versions of Android 12 in 2021, but still no Easter egg.
Unsurprisingly, the Easter egg incorporates Google’s new design ethos known as Material You. When you activate the surprise, a splash of color is created that blends in with the color scheme Android has chosen for your wallpaper. That said, it could look different for pretty much everyone.
Check out an example of what it looks like below, as well as steps on how to see it for yourself.
Android 12 Easter Egg: How to See It and What It Looks Like
- Go to Android settings either from the app drawer or the gear icon in your notification shadow.
- Scroll to the bottom of the settings list and find About phone.
- Find your version of Android in About Phone. This can be in a different location depending on the Android skin.
- Repeatedly tap your version of Android until the Easter egg begins!
If you’ve done everything correctly, you should see a layout similar to the following screenshots:
To see the Android 12 logo, move the clock hand to 12:00 (for Android 12, get it?). Check out the video below if you’re having trouble.
Remember, this will be different for everyone. Our background here is red, which is why this is the color scheme of the animations. If the background was blue or a photo it would be a whole range of different colors. Change your wallpaper, then try the steps again to see a different result!
