- Asus has officially confirmed the launch date for Asus ROG Phone 5: March 9, 2021.
- The company has its own website for the phone with a countdown timer.
- So far there is no information on when you can get the phone and how much it will cost.
We reported earlier this morning that Asus has finally confirmed what we had long suspected: There won’t be an Asus ROG Phone 4. In Chinese culture, number four is considered unfortunate as it is a homonym for “death”. For this reason, Asus jumps straight to five from the ROG Phone 3.
Now we have an official launch date for the Asus ROG Phone 5. You can find a page dedicated to the ROG Phone 5 on the Asus Republic of Gamers official website. A countdown timer will be displayed there, which will expire the numbers until March 9, 2021.
According to the site, the scheduled kick-off event will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Taipei, which is 6:00 a.m. CET. Click here to convert the time to your local time zone.
Asus ROG Phone 5 launch date confirmed but not much else
Unfortunately, the website doesn’t reveal much of the information on the phone itself. Apart from the name and the start date / time, the page is basically blank.
However, we have a lot of rumors about the ROG Phone 5. We’re almost certain that it will come with a Snapdragon 888 processor, Android 11, and a huge 6.8-inch display. There could even be a mini display on the back that can be used for notifications and other information.
