TL; DR
- Samsung has just extended the deadline for the Samsung cloud service to end.
- You have until November 30, 2021 to save your files, but only until October to easily migrate them to OneDrive.
- After November 30th, Samsung will delete all of your stored data.
Back when it seemed like every company was developing a cloud storage service, Samsung brought out its own. The service would automatically back up your phone files so that you can safely delete data from your onboard storage.
Originally, Samsung had set a termination date for the service on August 31st. However, this deadline has only been extended to November 30, 2021 (via Android headquarters). However, there is a soft deadline for easily migrating your data.
From now until October 1, 2021, you can easily migrate any Samsung Cloud data you might have to Microsoft’s OneDrive. The process is very simple, and it transfers all of your data from a dying service to one that won’t go away anytime soon. However, if you don’t do this before October 1st, you will need to manually migrate to the service of your choice before November 30th. After that date, any data you have will go away.
You may think you don’t have any data on Samsung Cloud, but it’s worth checking out. If you have ever owned a Samsung device, it is very likely that some data was automatically saved in the service. Definitely worth a look just to be sure.
