Google’s Task Mate pays you to complete simple tasks on your phone
- Google is testing a new crowdsourced reward app called Task Mate.
- Task Mate allows users to complete tasks for financial rewards.
- The app is only available by invitation per support page, currently only in India and Kenya.
There’s a new Google app that users can use to earn money to get things done on their smartphone. Synchronized Task Mate (h / t 9to5Google) the app is currently only available in India and Kenya.
Like Google Opinion Rewards, which give users Play Store credits for completing surveys, Task Mate also rewards users for completing tasks for businesses. The main difference is that the actual currency is rewarded to a user through a digital payment platform, not just App Store credits.
With the chores on offer, you don’t have to help scrubbing the dishes in a restaurant or tidying up the local park. Many can be done at home from a smartphone, while others require a little more adventure. Some examples Google cites are “recording spoken sentences”, “photographing shop fronts”, or “transcribing sentences”.
The remuneration is apparently based on the simplicity of the task. A bundle of 10 transcription tasks brings in $ 0.50. Recording 10 spoken sentences is worth $ 0.20. It’s unclear how many of these you can complete in any given time frame. However, if a user is happy with their balance, they can make a withdrawal.
However, Task Mate apparently puts accuracy over speed and quantity so it would be difficult to play the system.
“You will be given tasks based on your performance, including factors like your accuracy and whether you’ve previously violated any of our policies,” the app says on the support page. “As your performance increases or pending tasks are reviewed, you will be given new tasks. When a requester has more work to do and add to the platform, you should find more to do. “Some tasks also require certain“ skills ”.
Task Mate remains in Early Access in the Play Store for the time being. It’s also available by invitation only, and it’s unclear when the app will launch in other markets. In the meantime, there are many Android apps out there for users to make money from. Read our top tips below.
