TL; DR
- Google released Android 12 Beta 5.
- The stable Android 12 release will follow in the next few weeks.
- Beta 5 finalizes interfaces and behaviors for the app.
Google has released the final and final beta for Android 12. The latest update, just like the previous one, doesn’t add many new features as Google tells us.
The software achieved platform stability with Beta 4 and Beta 5 is the release candidate. This means that all surfaces and behaviors facing the app are now final. Developers can now test and review their apps to make sure they’re ready for the stable release of Android 12.
Speaking of which, Google says Android 12 will be officially launched in “just a few weeks”. Maybe we can expect a release for the software in mid to late September. Unfortunately, the company has not disclosed an exact date.
In addition, Google has also made the beta of Android 12 available for Pixel 5a users. The phone is relatively new and was not included in the beta program when it launched. When you received your Pixel 5a, this is where you can sign up for the Android 12 beta and get over-the-air updates.

If you’re already using an earlier Android 12 beta, Pixel, or third-party device, you will automatically receive the beta 5 update. Remember, Google partnered with OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Asus, Xiaomi, and others for its Android 12 beta program.
However, Oppo recently announced that its Android 12-based Color OS 12 software will be released later this month. Samsung will also present the beta for One UI 4 based on Android 12 in September. We are sure that other OEMs will follow suit as soon as Android 12 becomes official.
