Google Pixel 6 appears to pass through FCC

Jimmy Westenberg / Android Authority

TL; DR

  • Four mysterious Google phones have just passed the FCC, likely the Google Pixel 6 series.
  • Each model should have a mmWave version and a version with only Sub6 5G.
  • FCC certifications like this usually signal an imminent launch.

Google told us a lot about their upcoming flagship phones. One thing, however, has not been announced when we will actually bring it to market. Fortunately, we now know that we are pretty close to that date whenever it may be.

Traditionally, the FCC is one of the last steps in a smartphone release. While these certification lists don’t tell us much, they prove that Google should be bringing the devices to market very soon.

The two phones have the following model numbers:

  • GLU0G and G8V0U (likely Pixel 6 Pro)
  • GB7N6 and G9S9B (likely Pixel 6)

It’s not easy to tell which model number goes with which phone. However, the reason each variant has two models is because one only has Sub6 5G support and the other also supports mmWave.

We’ll have to wait and see if these theories match, but you can go ahead and look forward to the Pixel 6 release as they are almost certainly just around the corner.
