- Renders allegedly showing the unannounced Google Pixel 5a have hit the internet.
- The phone looks almost identical to the older Pixel 4a 5G.
- There is no word on when this phone will be released.
Google launched the Pixel 5 smartphone in the fall of 2020. So we wondered if there might be a Pixel 5a in the works. Well-known internet gadget leaker Steve “OnLeaks” Hemmerstoffer posted some information from his sources on the phone tonight, along with images he claims show renders of the Google Pixel 5a.
The renders show a phone that looks almost exactly like the older Pixel 4a 5G in design and size. The post claims it will have a 6.2-inch thin OLED FHD + display. The front-facing selfie pinhole camera is in the upper left corner. The bezels are pretty thin, but not as thin as those on high-end smartphones.
The phone may still have some fallback features that some users may or may not like. History claims it will have a 3.5mm headphone jack and a rear fingerprint sensor. It will reportedly have stereo speakers as well.
The leaked Pixel 5a renders also show a rear square camera hump with two unknown sensors, as well as a flash. There’s something else in the bump that the tipster claims is likely to be PDAF sensor (Phase Detection Autofocus).
There are no details on the phone’s other major hardware specs including the processor, RAM, storage, and battery size.
There is also no word about when the pixel 5a could start up. Given that the Pixel 4a was announced back in August 2020 and the 5G version launched in October 2020, we may have to wait at least a few months for this new Pixel phone from Google to hit the market.
