Google Pixel 5 specs leak reveals a ‘premium’ mid-range phone
- A detailed leak appears to have revealed the specifications of the Google Pixel 5.
- It would be an upper mid-range phone with 5G, a Snapdragon 765G chip, and a 4,080 mAh battery.
- In Europe it could cost 629 euros.
If the Google Pixel 5 specs were still a mystery, WinFuture could have just deleted it. The German website announced that details and pictures for Google’s Pixel 5 have been leaked, including the possible price in Europe.
As previous rumors suggested, the Pixel 5 would be more of an upper mid-range smartphone than a flagship like the Pixel 4. It would revolve around a 6-inch 1080p OLED screen with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and carry a Snapdragon 765G rather than an 800 series chip, although that would bring 5G support. You also get enough 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, as well as a familiar camera setup with 12.2 MP regular and 16 MP wide-angle rear sensors and an 8 MP front shooter.

However, the phone can take longer to charge than you think. As indicated by previous reports, Google will reportedly give the Pixel 5 a bigger 4,080 mAh battery – that’s considerably better than the Pixel 4 XL’s 3,700 mAh battery. The 5G wireless support could partially offset the surge, but a quick charge (if only 18W) could help if you’re running low.
The price of the Pixel 5 could be tempting too. In Germany, Google’s flagship is said to cost 629 euros. We’d expect a lower price tag in the US, although this suggests it will be significantly more expensive than the 499 pixel Pixel 4a 5G. It would still compete with comparable phones such as the LG Velvet and would be considerably cheaper than even the $ 799 Pixel 4 (with 64 GB of storage) from 2019.
Google is expected to showcase the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G at its hardware event on September 30th, where you will likely get final answers on specs and prices. No phone is expected to have really standout features, but that could be part of the point – much like the standard Pixel 4a, they would be great value for money by leaving out the extras that flagships are so expensive to use do.
