The days of unlimited uploads from Google Photos may end on June 1st, but you still have a chance to make the most of your free space. Google is rolling out a storage management tool in the Photos app that lets you delete the photos and videos that you’d rather not keep.
The new Google tool finds photos and videos that count towards your quota but are more likely to be junk, e.g. B. blurry snapshots, screenshots or particularly large videos. The app has certainly made suggestions before, but this gives you an easier way to reduce clutter on your own terms.

Accordingly, Google has switched the “high quality photos” level to a more precise “memory saver”. Newbies will have a better sense of the slight sacrifice in image quality they make to save space rather than uploading the original images.
This addition won’t put you at ease if your storage is already low and unlikely to get much bulkier. However, it can help you get more out of your drive space if you’ve been liberal with uploads in the past. This, in turn, could help you avoid a Google One subscription for a while longer.
