- The app is expected to add four new filters to improve image search.
Google is reportedly preparing to add new search filters to its Photos app to improve image search. Currently, Google Photos lets you refine your search for a specific image based on location, people, and things. According to reverse engineering Jane Manchun WongYou may soon be able to combine these existing search attributes with new filters to increase the chances of finding the photo you are looking for.

In the screenshot shared by Wong, we see four new Google Photos search filters. This includes selfies, videos, archived photos, and motion photos that have been clicked on with specific people or things.
You should also be able to link these new search filters to the existing location filter to find photos that were taken in a specific location. The new filters will appear just below the search bar, and you should see the results just below it too.
Google didn’t announce the introduction of these new search tools in photos, but the company could do so soon as they appear almost ready to use. It could also add some more filters to the list if and when they go live.
