Today Google sent out invitations to its latest launch event. The next Google Hardware Event will be on September 30, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
At this event, we expect Google to launch at least two new Pixel smartphones: the Google Pixel 4a 5G and the Google Pixel 5. In addition, the invitation from Google makes it clear that there is a new smart speaker and a new medium becomes streamer.
The Google Hardware Event 2020
Obviously, the next Google hardware launch will be a purely online event. As in previous years, Google will likely stream the event live to the general public so you can watch Google showcase its next big thing.
As mentioned earlier, the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 will be confirmed at the event. The “new Chromecast” mentioned in the invitation is probably not a Chromecast as we got to know it. Instead, it is likely to be the Android TV-based device, code-named “Sabrina”. This device should compete with streamers from companies like Roku and Amazon.

The “newest smart speaker” mentioned in the invitation will likely be an update to Google Home, the original smart speaker that Google introduced a few years ago. This time, however, the device should have Nest branding to match the Google Nest Hub, Google Nest Mini, etc.
Google normally starts pre-orders for devices on the start date. So if you’re looking to buy new Google hardware, expect pre-orders to begin on September 30th!
