Give a new Apple Watch Series 5 to dad for just $300

Time seems to have stopped in the last few months of the pandemic, but I can assure you that Father’s Day is actually about three weeks away. And this could be the year I give my father an Apple Watch. That’s because Amazon has currently lowered the Apple Watch Series 5 back to its lowest price ever – $ 300. That’s $ 84 less than Amazon’s and $ 100 less than the Apple Store.
This deal applies to the 40mm aluminum case version of the 5 Series in Space Gray with a black sports band. There is no coupon field on the product page to review and no discount code to enter at checkout (although you should see “Save $ 84.01 at checkout” on the product page). The $ 84 discount is applied automatically when you checkout, reducing the price to $ 300.
I know that opinions on this topic are very different, but I personally wouldn’t consider buying an Apple Watch model other than the Series 5. I owned a Series 1 – in short – five years ago before it died in a tragic skateboard accident. Frankly, I thank the sidewalk for relieving it of its misery. It was not a good watch. Since then, I’ve narrowed my time and waited for a model that was actually always on view, and Series 5 is the first model to do so. I’ve loved my Series 5 since I bought it at launch. Sure, that’s all that’s new. So if you already have a Series 4, there is no big incentive to upgrade. However, when you buy a first Apple Watch for Dad, everything is new to him, including GPS, compass app, heart rate and EKG monitor, fitness features, watch faces with complications, interactive notifications, and on-the-wrist Apple Pay.
What changes does the Apple Watch Series 6 bring? At the moment it is everyone’s guess. If Apple adheres to its usual release schedule (and who knows this year?) We should see it in the fall, and this could include sleep tracking and better battery life, among other things. But I wouldn’t be deterred from pulling the trigger on an Apple Watch Series 5 worth $ 300 – the price is right and the Series 6 is still a long way off.
