I have been looking for an alternative to my Philips Sonicare for a while. It works fine, but the replacement brushes are ridiculously expensive. I have been using the Fairywill for about a week and I suspect that I have found my next toothbrush – it checks practically all the boxes I need in a toothbrush at a much lower lifetime cost.

First, the brush: it is a little shorter than my Sonicare and much lighter. The lower weight makes brushing easier. You wouldn’t think it would make a lot of difference, but it does. Functionally, the Fairywill works just like most electric toothbrushes. It takes two minutes with short pauses every 30 seconds to remind you to switch quadrants to cover your whole mouth. It offers five brush modes (white, clean, delicate, polishing, and massaging), but I never put much emphasis on changing brush mode, so I’ll stick to the default mode, white.

The battery lasts about a month in daily use. The Fairywill is so cheap and has no charging station. Instead, a USB charging cable is included. Admittedly, this is an inconvenience. The cable plugs in at the bottom, which is uncomfortable to me, and it’s a proprietary connector. So don’t lose the cable.
