Get ready for slow charging
- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 Charger Specifications have been released.
- According to a 3C listing, the phones’ chargers run at the same speeds as their predecessors.
- This means that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is satisfied with a meager 15 W charges.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 have seen a lot of leaks in the past few weeks. The leaflets are rumored to have smarter design elements and faster hardware. However, if you are looking for fast-charging smartphones, you may have to look elsewhere.
A 3C certification discovered by the Digital Chat Station shows the specs of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3. If you were expecting a major upgrade here, you would be disappointed.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, Z Fold 3 charging speeds
The charger of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 supports a maximum of 15 W – the same power as its predecessor. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 charger will also have 25 W like the Z Fold 2, according to the listing.
This isn’t a big surprise as fast charging isn’t a major concern for Samsung. But 15 W is probably too slow for a premium smartphone. In our Galaxy Z Flip review, the meager 3,300 mAh battery took about 90 minutes to charge. However, charging the Galaxy Z Fold 2 was less of a hassle in our test.
Fast charging is also essential for users. In a recent survey, only a small fraction of Android Authority Readers would be trading fast recharge on their cell phones for a lower price. For some, this seems more important than SD card support, the latest chipsets, and even a charger included. Users expect more premium devices to be able to charge quickly. Given that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 may hit the market around the price of its predecessor of around $ 1,299, this expectation is arguably justified.
As we saw with the Galaxy S21, the certification doesn’t necessarily mean that Samsung will bundle the chargers with the phones as well. We’ll know for sure when the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 debut later this year.
