If you want to expand your Google Smart Speaker network, you will find some good news here: For a limited time and while stocks last, Office Depot has it Google Home for only $ 29. That’s right: $ 29, compared to the usual price of $ 99. This deal first appeared on Target at the weekend and was quickly sold out, so it’s likely to happen here too. And hopefully you can find it in the store, otherwise the shipping will cost $ 11.95.

We live in a Coke versus Pepsi world, and while in the world of AI assistants Dr. Peppers and Tabs out there (Siri and Bixby come to mind), it’s really a two-horse race between Alexa and Google Assistant. Everyone has their favorites, but Google definitely does a few things better than Alexa. For example, when it comes to general knowledge issues, it’s not a competition: Google is much better at dropping knowledge than Alexa, who often behaves like a person in the room who always has trouble following the conversation.
At $ 29, the full-size Google Home is $ 10 below the usual price of the Google Mini in hockey puck size, which has a much less impressive speaker. Of course, the home does everything you’d expect from an intelligent speaker. It’s compatible with a huge ecosystem of smart home devices (though maybe not as many as Amazon’s Alexa), is great for answering questions and performing tasks like running timers, and is always handy for playing music or to tell you news.
