Within a few months, Genesis has almost 10,000 reservations for its first SUV, the GV80and the luxury department is ready to launch the vehicle this summer despite the Corona virus Pandemic.
Mark Del Rosso, CEO of Genesis, told Roadshow the statistics on Monday in a phone interview when he stressed that the brand was ready to push ahead with the start of the coronavirus era. Del Rosso said that both the summer launches of the GV80 and G80 are “100%” on track and that there are no foreseeable inventory problems.
“From an inventory perspective, we’re in a perfect position,” he said. “The reality is that we are likely to be too few,” indicating an unexpectedly high demand for the SUV. Del Rosso added that G80 Reservations are hovering around 1,500 today after the sedan made a digital debut in late March.
Genesis already showed the GV80 in its final form in January and broken down the prices last March before its summer debut. The luxury SUV will compete with competitors like that Cadillac XT6, Lincoln Aviator and BMW X5but hit back with one Price less than $ 50,000 to begin. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while the cheapest four-wheel drive fairing rises from $ 1,025 to $ 55,675 after a target fee. No matter which model, each GV80 will be equipped with a 14.5-inch infotainment screen, synthetic leather upholstery with heating function (real leather is available) and a range of active safety technologies.
When asked how the company intends to maintain momentum, especially when Del Rosso launched the SUV, which it called the “flagship”, the CEO pointed out that the ecosystem is designed to meet customers on their own terms, particularly because of Genesis expanded its concierge program personal buyer.
“We feel that we have a fairly big advantage in the automotive industry when it comes to excellence,” said Del Rosso, referring to the options Genesis offers for service and sales to personalize luxury.
