Galaxy Buds 2 could boast better IP rating than original Buds
TL; DR
- More details on Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 have been leaked.
- The earphones should pack five hours of juice with the ANC turned on.
- According to the tip, there could also be an IPX7 rating.
We already know a lot about the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2. Now a new leak has seemingly revealed the remaining unknowns about the real wireless earbuds.
The leak comes from a relatively new tipster Snoopy (h / t Android police), which revealed a long machine-translated datasheet on the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic earlier this week. As with this leak, we recommend approaching these details with caution, even as they reflect multiple specs from other sources.
At the beginning, the Galaxy Buds 2, like the Galaxy Buds Pro, should have an IPX7 rating, which should withstand intensive training sessions in the gym and jogging in the rain. However, a previous report indicated an IPX2 rating that would provide minimal protection against splash and sweat. The original Galaxy Buds also pack this rating.
The Galaxy Buds 2 will reportedly have a 61 mAh battery in each bud, with another 472 mAh lurking in the case. This means that users should be able to use five hours with the ANC switched on and eight hours with the ANC switched off. In total, the Buds 2 can be used for 28 hours with charges from the case.

When you need to charge the Buds 2, they can be used for 55 minutes with just five minutes of charging in the case. However, it is unclear whether this will be used with the ANC on or off. The case also uses Qi wireless charging.
After all, in terms of audio, each earbud has three microphones, an 11mm woofer and a 6.5mm tweeter.
The tipster did not mention the price, but German publication WinFuture previously stated at € 149.99, which places the Galaxy Buds 2 between the Buds Pro and the original Galaxy Buds.
It doesn’t take long to wait for these specifications to be confirmed. Samsung will launch the Galaxy Buds 2 along with a number of other devices on August 11th.
