Update, Jan. 28, 2021 (2:45 p.m. ET): Today the reliable leaker Evan Blass posted some new pictures of the Galaxy A52 on his voice page. In contrast to the images covered in this article, these are official press images directly from Samsung. As such, they represent exactly what the final product will look like.
You can see the new pictures here. Spoiler alert: They don’t look much different from the leaked renderers. The setup of the camera module is the only big difference.
Original article, Dec. 8, 2020 (5:15 p.m. ET): The Galaxy A51 is arguably more important than the S20 – it’s the affordable phone you’re more likely to buy, aimed at a wide audience rather than enthusiasts. And Samsung apparently knows. Well-known leaker OnLeaks has shared renders of the Galaxy A52 5G, and it looks like Samsung is in no rush to reinvent one of its best-selling designs.
The images suggest that the Galaxy A52 is very close to the template Samsung created with the A51. You still get a 6.5-inch display with a hole-punch selfie camera, an under-screen fingerprint reader, and a quad rear camera array. The biggest change on the outside could be the look of these rear cameras, visually similar to what you see in the Note 20 family.
Samsung Galaxy A52: More information?
The specs weren’t mentioned, although it is believed Samsung is using faster Snapdragon and Exynos processors and making other iterative performance improvements.

That wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing. If the rumor is true, Samsung would withhold the Galaxy A52’s 3.5mm headphone jack and the sleek, but durable “pane of glass”. If you have no complaints about the A51, you might like the sequel.
There is no mention of a release date or price for the Galaxy A52. However, given the supposedly conservative design, we wouldn’t be surprised if Samsung ships the new model relatively quickly at a price similar to the A51’s $ 499 price. That could make it a compelling option if the Galaxy S20 FE and the upcoming Galaxy S21 are above what you’re willing to spend.
