There were all sorts of wild rumors about Xiaomi’s first foldable phone. From videos to patented designs to spy footage, we’ve seen a lot, but nothing specific. A new set of practical images of a supposedly foldable Xiaomi phone is now adding to the intrigue, including the Mi Mix branding to make things even more interesting.
The images were initially leaked on Weibo but pulled shortly afterwards. A row of keen observer made it just in time. Check out the pictures below.
What we see is basically a case of a foldable phone that appears to be part of the Mi Mix series. Xiaomi had already given a hint in February that a Mi-Mix model could be on the plan this year.
Anyway, this leaked folding device is similar to the shape and design of other foldable phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and the Huawei Mate X2. It also apparently has three horizontally oriented camera sensors. However, there are no advertisements on the leaked shape so this is definitely not the final design. We’re also unsure why the leak was removed from Weibo, which further raises doubts about its credibility.
The last Mi Mix model was launched back in 2019, so it is certainly time to upgrade. A foldable phone could be just the right way for Xiaomi to revive interest in the series and revive it in 2021.
