Far Cry 6 cover leaks with Giancarlo Esposito, Ubisoft promises more news Sunday
The next iteration of Far Cry is coming. After box art and a game description were released on Hong Kong PlayStation Store with actor Giancarlo Esposito, Ubisoft confirmed that the star of Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian will appear in Far Cry 6.
In a tweet sent from the official Far Cry account on Friday morning, the developer tweeted that “Anton would not be satisfied” with footage of a virtual esposito lighting a cigar. The developer promises more information about the new game at its UbiForward event on Sunday, July 12th.
What fans can expect, the leak that was subsequently drawn contained some additional details. According to GameSpot, Far Cry 6 will take place in Yara, which the site describes as “a tropical paradise that needs to be restored to regain its former glory”.
The description adds that Yara is ruled by a “ruthless” dictator, Anton Castillo, who, along with his son Diego, is ready to do anything to restore their nation and start a revolution.
Judging from the Ubisoft tweet, Esposito seems to play a role that should go well with the remarkable storyline of the actor with ruthless villains like Breaking Bads Gus Fring. Esposito was nominated for two Emmys for his portrayal of the Meth Kingpin, first in 2008 for the original show and later for the replay of the role in the spin-off Better Call Saul in 2019.
According to the release, the new game will be released on February 18, 2021. The leaked page shows that those who buy Far Cry 6 for PlayStation 4 should also be able to upgrade to a PlayStation 5 copy for free.
