PS5 pre-order information
The first PS5 pre-orders went live on September 17th. However, spammers and probably some bots quickly bought up the first pre-orders for the consoles. They went so fast that Sony got one A quick note on the official PlayStation Twitter account admit that the process “could have been a lot smoother”. It has been added that more PS5 consoles will be released for pre-order shortly and that major console retailers will issue alerts as soon as they become available.
Where can I pre-order a PS5?
If you see a website that claims to be taking pre-orders for the PS5, it is likely a scam. Stick with reputable big brands you know when it comes to pre-ordering something as big as the latest PlayStation console. Some of the reputable stores that you should look to pre-order when they become available again include Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and GameStop
All of these retailers are already set up to pre-order online. You can sign up for email updates at your favorite stores to be one of the first to know when pre-orders will go back online.
What PS5 pre-order packages or offers does Sony have?
At the moment there is no word on what PS5 pre-order packs (consoles with games) will be available. Some of the most likely games that could be part of a PS5 pre-order bundle include:
- call of Duty
- FIFA 21
- Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Both Xbox and Nintendo have previously switched to digital codes for games included in console packs. We hope Sony will continue to provide physical copies of bundled games as it will add resale value, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
If I pre-order a PS5, when do I have to pay?
Large retailers like Target, BestBuy etc will likely require a deposit to secure your PS5 pre-order when they start again. The down payment for the PS5 should be between $ 50 and $ 100. This deposit should be used towards the cost of your PS5 and you only have to pay the balance when you pick it up.
If you order it online to have it shipped to you, your card will likely only be charged the full amount when the console is shipped to you.
What games will the PS5 console launch?
Sony has announced that it will launch alongside the PS5 console. Some will be available on the launch date, while others will be published in the weeks following launch (also known as the “launch window”).
