Elon Musk shares photos of newborn son ‘X Æ A-12’, Grimes explains its meaning

It looks like Elon Musk and his partner Grimes (real name Claire Elise Boucher) are now parents of a new boy.
Musk announced the news on Monday on Twitter. After Musk tweeted about something completely independent – EPA testing on the Tesla Model S – someone asked him for news about the baby. First he replied: “A few hours away”, then later: “Mom and baby, all well.”

Musk later confirmed that the baby is a boy and shared a picture of him with the little guy. “A picture of you holding the baby would destroy the internet … please share one,” wrote a Twitter user. And he was committed. He also answered a question about the baby’s name and said it was X Æ A-12 musk, although it is not yet clear if that is it real Surname.
Musk also posted a photo of the baby through a tattoo / eyelash filter. Apparently, it’s never too early to use a filter.
As was to be expected, memes flew close and fast around the choice of name.
The recording artist Grimes had first referred to the pregnancy on Instagram, with one cryptic image with a baby photoshoppting on her body and later confirmed her pregnancy in an interview with Rolling Stone. She also spoke on social media about pregnancy issues in her second trimester, saying she felt “ill-prepared” because pregnancy was not “as visible or discussed as it should be”.

Grimes confirmed the name and explained the meaning in a recent tweet:
X is the “unknown variable”, Æ is their “elf spelling of Ai”, A-12 is the “precursor of SR-17”, apparently the couple’s favorite airplane. A is for Archangel, Grime’s favorite song. To be fair, it’s a great song.
Still not sure if this is a joke, and Grimes and Musk will actually call the child “Geoff”. Geoff Musk. Has a nice sound.
Musk and Tesla representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comments.
