Elon Musk can be one new father, but he still has time to spark controversy on Twitter. The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX tweeted a note on Sunday The matrixwho drew a tweeted response from Ivanka Trump. None of this went down well with half of the movie’s creators, Lilly Wachowski.

“Take the red pill,” Musk tweeted along with the rose emoji, referring to the scene in which Morpheus Neo leaves the choice of whether to take the red pill and learn the truth about the matrix or take the blue pill and his former pill wants to live on in blissful ignorance.

Ivanka Trump tweeted “Taken!” In response, Lilly Wachowski, part of the Wachowski siblings, who wrote and directed The Matrix in 1999, replied: “Fuck you both.”

She then shared a link to the non-profit LGBTQ Brave Space Alliance and asked for support.

What Musk meant by the quote is speculative. In politics, “take the red pill” can mean shifting your political views to the right. The Red Pill Subreddit, from 2013, popularized the term in online forums related to Donald Trump or men’s rights groups.

Musk has been busy on Twitter lately. Last week, he threatened to relocate Tesla’s California headquarters and sue San Francisco’s Alameda County for the district’s on-site rules.

A fourth The Matrix film by Lana Wachowski is now in the works, with Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss returning as Neo and Trinity. Lily Wachowski worked on the Showtime series Work in Progress and was not involved in the latest episode, but passed it on blessing. After a production stop caused by corona viruses in March, the shooting should continue in July.
