Dreame Bot L10 Pro review: Almost a dream machine

My cats don’t like the Dreame Technologies Dreame Bot L10 Pro robotic vacuum cleaner, but I do. Mainly. This automated cleaning tool was a helpful addition to my cleaning routine as it could reliably remove vacuuming from my daily to-do list. Can it do the same for you? Find it in the Android Authority Dreame Bot L1o Pro review.

There is no more hideous job than vacuuming. Nobody enjoys putting a vacuum around the house to clean up. Thank goodness we have robotic vacuums to do the job for us.

The Dreame Technologies Dreame Bot L10 Pro lands in tough competition in May. It will go on sale May 1st in the US and May 9th across Europe. The US model from Amazon and eBay is priced at $ 379.99 for a two-week introductory period. Dreame didn’t say what the full retail price was. Black is the only color option available and there are no other variations.

With a price below $ 400, the L10 Pro ends up in the middle of the market. There are numerous options ranging from $ 200 to $ 600 including the iRobot Roomba e5 5150 and i7 7150, as well as the Shark IQ Robot RV1001AE and Eufy Robotic 15c. What varies between them are run time, suction, wiping, and self-draining functions. The Dreame L10 Pro does not empty itself, but it does have an optional mop. Here’s how it stacks up.

What is good?

Setting up and configuring the L10 Pro is largely painless. You need to find a suitable place in your house, away from any obstacles, and allow it to collect an initial charge before using it. Dreame Technologies is a trademark of Xiaomi, so the device is managed by the Xiaomi Home app. The app, available on Android and iOS, allows you to add the vacuum to your list of smart devices and run it remotely. The biggest hurdle is to connect it to your Wi-Fi network.

The battery life is good. The L10 Pro has a 5,200 mAh lithium-ion battery and does the job. The nominal running time for the vacuum is 2.5 hours. My house isn’t that big so it only ran about 50 minutes per vacuum. Speaking of size, the battery should be able to clean around 250 square meters, or 2,700 square feet per charge. If your home is longer than 2.5 hours or larger than around 250 square feet, the vacuum will automatically return to recharge before the job is complete. Nevertheless, the L10 Pro runs about 30 minutes less than most competing models such as the Roborock S6 Max V.

The dust bin is larger than many competing models, which means it can hold more debris and less emptying. In fact, most of the maintenance is simple, e.g. B. cleaning the filter or rinsing the mop pad.

It’s quiet too. At 65 dB, the Dream Bot L10 Pro is quieter than other models. You will hear the vacuum when you are in close proximity but I couldn’t hear it when I was working in my second floor office when it was being cleaned downstairs. Competing models have an output of 67-70 dB. The L10 Pro is much quieter than a standard freestanding or canister vacuum.

The app is robust. With the Xiaomi app, you can create separate cleaning zones, install phantom walls and create exclusion zones for the vacuum. I especially like that you can initiate a cleaning from anywhere and come home to a clean (er) house.

What’s not so good?

It’s not the absolute best thing about cleaning. My house has a mix of hardwood floors and large carpets. The L10 Pro excelled at cleaning the wooden floors and some carpets. The carpet in my living room is a little thicker than the others and the L10 Pro definitely had problems removing the cat hair – despite the high suction power of 4,000 Pa. I would rate it good at spot cleaning, but for a thorough clean you need to pull out the real vacuum.

Wiping is a hit or miss. Hardwood floors are difficult to mop effectively. I found it pointless to use the L10 Pro in rooms where carpets took up most of the space, but my kitchen was a different story. The vacuum could effectively only run through the kitchen thanks to the mop, but it left obvious streaks on the floor. The water tank holds 270 ml, which was sufficient for my kitchen but may not be for larger kitchens.

Despite the LiDAR and other obstacle avoidance technologies, the L10 Pro still gets confused at times. A piano bench, dining table, and kitchen table kept the L10 Pro running around trying to figure out the best way to go. Cliff avoidance was excellent, however, and the L10 Pro avoided multiple steps and drops with ease.

The Dreame Technologies Dreame Bot L10 Pro is a fine offer that offers a mixture of advantages and disadvantages. You can definitely find cheaper robotic vacuums that do an approximate job of cleaning, as well as more expensive prices that automatically empty the trash can. However, the $ 379.99 price tag feels about right given the features and competition.

The Dream Bot L10 Pro has a lot of features for the price and is great for the occasional cleanup.

In my experience, this is probably not the best option for pet owners as it was difficult to remove all pet hair from the carpet. If you don’t need the mop function, there are cheaper options from other brands that do the basics just as well. For the occasional clean-up between deep vacuuming sessions, the Dream Bot L10 Pro can scoop up dirt and dust with little noise and fuss.

Dreame Technologies Dreame Bot L10 Pro

The Dreame Bot L10 Pro is a medium-sized robotic vacuum cleaner that runs quieter and collects more dirt compared to the competition. It includes both vacuum and mop functions, advanced object avoidance and runs for up to 2.5 hours.
