Paul L. Vasquez, the man behind the video “Double Rainbow” that went viral in 2010, died on Saturday at the age of 57.
Vasquez discussed health problems on his Facebook page, and mentions being tested on COVID-19, but the cause of death is not yet known.
His famous “Double Rainbow” video is one of the earliest examples of viral video fame. Double rainbows are not uncommon, but Vasquez’s reaction – filmed outside of Yosemite National Park, California – made the video a must. Funny, of course, but also incredibly heartwarming and serious: “Double rainbow all the way!” To this day, it’s the first thing I think of when I see a vivid rainbow in the sky. I suspect that most people who grew up on the Internet think the same way.
Five years ago, CNN launched a “Where is he now“Story about Vasquez, he compared his double rainbow moment to a” religious experience “. After his online fame, he appeared with Jimmy Kimmel and even made an advertisement for Microsoft.
He survived two grown children, a son and a daughter.
