Apple has just completed its WWDC keynote address giving consumers a glimpse of the next software updates. The address also comes a few weeks after Google did the same for its software at its I / O developer conference.
Apple brings iOS 15 to the table, the latest update for its iPhones. Meanwhile, at its event, Google detailed Android 12, the latest update for the huge army of Android devices out there.

It’s easy to see why some might think that the two companies haven’t really done much in terms of innovation on their respective platforms. It seems like Apple and Google are nodding at each other and maybe turning things upside down. We’ve also seen Google and Apple grab features that first came through Android skins or competing platforms, like Samsung’s popular pop-up video player and gestures first seen on WebOS.
On the other hand, there is also an argument that both companies are still innovating on their phone platforms. We’ve seen how Apple recently introduced visibility into app tracking to give users back control over the data. Meanwhile, Google also rolled out a nice app hibernation feature to remove permissions, turn off notifications, and free up space for apps that haven’t been used in several months.
