Disney Plus is getting a huge content boost, and not just for kids

Since its inception, Disney Plus has been the go-to place for everything from Star Wars to animated classics. Additionally, finding new Marvel shows like WandaVision was my best bet. Now Disney Plus is getting an even bigger boost than you can imagine, with Oscar nominees, the Falcon and Winter Soldier finals, and more adult animation. Here’s what we know.

We’re just going to walk you through some of the exciting new titles that pop up on the small screen. Don’t forget, however, that you can sign up for just $ 8 a month.

The finale of Falcon and Winter Soldier

Falken Winterlot

Marvel’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier series (or FAWS) takes up the two title characters just six months after Falcon received the title of Captain America. The series follows their adventures in tackling a new captain as well as a slew of MCU cameos.

The show should be launched before WandaVision as part of the fourth phase of the MCU. As we now know, Disney had to make some changes to the order and we’re finally ready for the season finale. Of course, we’re not here to give you spoilers, but you have plenty of time to catch up on the first five parts before today’s episode airs.

If you are already busy with FAWS, don’t forget to give WandaVision a clock. Don’t worry, parts of it confused us too.

Oscar favorite Nomadland

Nomad land

If you prefer movies to series, Disney Plus is the place for you. The expected Oscar favorite, Nomadland, lands on April 30th for subscribers in Canada and the UK. The film has already claimed two Golden Globes, so now is the perfect time to sit down with your box of popcorn.

Chloe Zhao’s film is an adaptation of the book by Jessica Bruder and follows the journey of a woman who lost everything in the Great Recession. She packs up what little she still has and sets off to roam the American West as a modern nomad. Nomadland stars Frances McDormand and David Straithairn as well as a multitude of true modern nomads.

The film hits Disney Plus in just a week, so you can watch it take home some Oscars before you can watch it. After all, it sounds a lot better to see Nomadland before it takes home a ton of Oscars. You can also check out Nomadland on Hulu, which is included in the Disney Plus package.

Animation for adults galore

Bart gets af Simpsons

Once you’ve stepped through the incredible Nomadland cinematic experience and caught up with FAWS, it may be time for something lighter. Fortunately, there are tons of adult animation on both Disney Plus and Hulu.

If you’re hoping for something Rick & Morty-style style, Solar Opposites season two should be for you. What follows is a family of aliens who have moved to Central America and hope for a better life. The show features voices you know and love from Justin Roiland, Thomas Middleditch, and others. Perhaps best of all, Solar Opposites has already gotten a third season, so more is to come.

Outside of Solar Opposites, you can also find Futurama and Family Guy right at home on Hulu. While there aren’t any new episodes of Futurama to delve into, it’s hard to get tired of the classics. There’s more than enough of Fry and Bender to walk around. You can also try Family Guy, which has been running continuously since 1999. Seth McFarlane and the crew are still pumping out new episodes so you probably never have to worry about going out.

One final adult animation classic to put yourself in the shoes of is The Simpsons. It’s the longest-running animated show, premiered a full decade before Family Guy in 1989. You probably already know the family as the show has become a cultural touchstone. The only way to catch up on every episode is with Disney Plus.

After we’ve given you more than enough to watch, make sure you’re ready for the full Disney Plus experience. For more information on pricing, as well as the Hulu, Disney Plus, and ESPN Plus bundles, please click the button below:
