Dell updated its high-end XPS laptops with the latest Intel processors last year. The company’s update spree is now also included in the range of Dell business laptops. Ahead of next week’s CES, the PC maker launched 2021 with updated Latitude and Precision laptops that not only come with Intel’s 11th generation processors, but also have more refined designs and enhanced features that make them more enticing than ever . The new additions to the 5000 series include the Latitude 5320, 5420 and 5520, although a 2-in-1 version of the 5320 is also available. All four come with the expected upgrade to the latest Intel processors up to the 11th generation i7 processor and have two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports. The design and construction are similar to the previous generation, but the newer units are slightly lighter than the 5010 range.

The 5320, 5420 and 5520 are still equipped with 13.3-inch, 14-inch and 15.6-inch displays. You get full HD screens across the board. However, the high-end variant of the Latitude 5520 has a 15.6-inch Ultra HD screen, while the cheapest iteration of the 5420 has a 1366 x 768 screen. You also have the choice between touch and non-touch versions.

The configurations of these Dell business laptops are highly customizable, so you can choose exactly which version best suits your needs. In addition to the screen size and resolution, you can choose up to 32 GB RAM and up to 1 TB SSD storage. Wireless connectivity can be upgraded to Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E, and the optional 4G LTE access is ideal for on the go. You can also add extra security features like a smart card reader, fingerprint scanner, and an IR camera for the face unlock feature.

You get Intel UHD graphics with the Core i3 models and Intel Xe graphics with versions i5 and i7. However, if you want better performance, the high-end variant of the 5520 comes with the Nvidia GeForce MX450 graphics card.

All of the laptops on this list are equipped with the latest Dell optimization features to improve your user experience. The outstanding thing is the express fee, with which you receive 35% of the charge in just 20 minutes and around 80% of the charge after an hour of charging.

Express Connect is a useful feature for the office (when we can get back to them). The laptop automatically selects the best access point to connect and forwards the bandwidth to conference apps. Intelligent Audio, which improves the audio quality and reduces background noise, also helps with audio and video conferences.

Dell has not yet announced the price of the updated Latitude 5000 series. It shouldn’t be too expensive though, as these are some of the company’s cheaper business laptops. The Latitude 5000 series will be available January 12th.

Dell Latitude 7000 series

The higher quality Latitude 7000 series also receives a similar upgrade. You can choose between carbon fiber and aluminum surfaces, Intel’s latest processors up to the Core i7 and updated Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports. Three main flavors of the 7000 series are available – Latitude 7320, 7420, and 7520 – but this time the company also introduced the detachable Latitude 7320 tablet.

Dell has managed to save a few millimeters and grams less compared to the previous generation, making some of the lightest business laptops you can get. All versions of the series offer up to 32 GB RAM, up to 1 TB storage, Intel Xe graphics and Wi-Fi 6 support.

Adaptation is key again. In addition to RAM memory and display size, you can also add optional extras like mobile broadband connection, a smart card reader, a fingerprint scanner and an IR camera.

Things stay largely the same across the board, but there are some differences between the three core models. You can get 2-in-1 variants of the Latitude 7320 and 7420, but not the 7520. However, if you are looking for a higher resolution Ultra HD display then the 7420 and 7520 are the ones.

Dell Latitude 7320 Detachable

The detachable Dell Latitude 7320 has a similar datasheet as its laptop sibling, with a few differences. The tablet has a slightly smaller 13-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 3: 2, up to 16 GB of RAM and Intel Iris X graphics. With this device, you can also opt for a better front camera. Of course, it’s far more portable in tablet form, but the detachable keyboard is an added hassle.

It will take a while to get your hands on one of the Latitude 7000 laptops. The series will be available starting March 30th and will start at $ 999.

Dell Latitude 9420

Dell Latitude 9420

With the first-class Latitude 9420, we continue to climb the Latitude ladder. This laptop is almost similar to the business equivalent of Dell’s upgraded XPS laptops. You get 11th generation Intel processors, a Full HD or QHD display with an aspect ratio of 16:10, Intel Iris X graphics, up to 32 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage.

It might not be as sophisticated as the XPS series, but it certainly comes close. The 9420 comes with an aluminum case with a brushed hairline and diamond cut edges. The new aspect ratio offers a larger screen in a slightly smaller and lighter body than its predecessor.

It also comes with a lot of features that you would expect from a high-end version. This includes Wi-Fi 6E support and an optional add-on that offers 5G mobile broadband connectivity. Like all other devices on the list, the Latitude 9420 also has two Thunderbolt 4 ports. It also has an impressive quad speaker and four noise-canceling microphones.

The Dell Latitude 9420 will not be available starting March 9th and we don’t have pricing information yet. It will certainly be the most expensive of the latest Latitude laptops.

Dell Precision 3560

Dell Precision 3560

The latest addition to Dell’s mobile workstations is the Precision 3560. As with any device in this series, the Precision 3560 is suitable for anything when properly configured. The latest model also has major upgrades that are worth buying.

The new Precision 3560 has a new design that makes it smaller and lighter than its predecessor. However, it has the same large display and full set of ports. It comes with Intel’s 11th generation processors, up to 64GB of RAM, up to 2TB of storage, and Wi-Fi 6 support.

The high-end versions of the Precision 3560 are equipped with professional NVIDIA Quadro T500 graphics. This allows you to achieve desktop-level performance with design apps and other graphics-intensive tasks. Advanced thermals also ensure that everything runs smoothly. You get an impressive array of ports and connectivity options, including two Thunderbolt 4 ports. You can also add additional security features like a smart card reader and fingerprint scanner.

The Dell Precision 3560 isn’t the most stylish Dell laptop you can get. It is certainly right if you are looking for a high performing workhorse. It will be available on January 12th with a starting price of $ 1,189.
