- Boost Mobile has launched promotional plans that offer calls, text, and 2GB of data starting at $ 10 a month.
- They will be available at these prices until the end of 2020.
- However, once 2021 kicks off, you will get less data.
Dish seems to have a simple strategy for luring you into Boost Mobile: by offering service at a price that may be too low to be without. Boost Mobile has launched two promo calling plans that offer full service at prices well below what you would normally pay, assuming you are willing to live within some limits.
The Headliner plan offers unlimited speaking, unlimited text, and 2GB of data for $ 10 per month. If you need more, a $ 15 per month plan offers 4GB of data. If all you need is the basics, this could easily fit the bill.
The plans are available from now until the end of 2020.

There are some clear catches. You keep your plan even after the three month promotional period ends, but Boost Mobile warns you that your data will drop to 1GB on the $ 10 plan and 2GB on the $ 15 plan. That’s still decent value if you just need data for simple tasks like email or navigation, but which should be considered before committing.
At least it’s hard to find prices that low. The closest comparison is Mint Mobile. It offers unlimited voice and text quality and 3 GB of data for $ 15 per month. However, you must purchase the service in blocks of three months or more. There isn’t a $ 10 plan either. It’s really a question of whether or not you value consistently available data, not to mention Mint’s promise of 5G access.
At least the timing is right. If you stay home during the pandemic, Boost Mobile’s plans may make more sense than usual. You won’t be using a lot of cellular data if you’re around Wi-Fi and this may only help you save money.
