Coros, the official watch sponsor of marathon king Eliud Kipchoge and obstacle queen Emma Coburn, is back with a new GPS watch. The Vertix 2 is the first new Coros watch since the lightweight and affordable Pace 2 and offers a completely different experience.
We can’t say for sure, but the Coros team may have heard some classic daft punk during the design process. The new Vertix 2 seems to be tougher, better, faster, and stronger than the original, and that says something.
For starters, the new clock features a new dual frequency GNSS chipset. This should allow the Vertix 2 to tackle even more diverse environments from forests to caves with three unique GPS modes. The additional frequency is intended to help combat thick trees and steep walls.

Those of you who want to download maps for long hikes and trail runs can choose between Landscape, Topographic and Hybrid versions. You can also see your cards better than ever with the new 1.4-inch touchscreen – the largest on any Coros watch.
Coros has made battery life a priority, and the Vertix 2 offers 60 days of juice outside of GPS mode. You can also enjoy 140 hours of GPS tracking or 35 hours of combined GPS and music playback. The watch offers a solid 32 GB of storage space, which should be more than enough for your favorite songs and podcasts.
Coros recently launched the new EvoLab software, which offers more ways to track your fitness than ever before. You can use the Vertix 2 to assess EKG tests and heart rate variability in order to get closer to an optimal training plan.
As an adventure watch, the Coros Vertix 2 is designed for harsh conditions. It has a sapphire crystal display with a titanium alloy case and water resistance of up to 10 ATM.
