Carl Pei may have left OnePlus 2

  • There is evidence that OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei may no longer be with the company.
  • The rumor is supported by leaked internal documents.
  • OnePlus did not respond to our request on the subject. It declined to make a statement to at least one other news agency.

Two men founded the smartphone company OnePlus: Pete Lau and Carl Pei. Lau is the CEO of the brand and has just been given a new role at the parent organization OPLUS. However, a rumor spread earlier today suggests that Pei is no longer with the brand at all.

According to a rumor first published by Android policeSome internal OnePlus documents have been leaked to Reddit. The documents – which may or may not be legitimate – suggest that Pei is no longer part of the leadership team.

We asked OnePlus directly for a comment. The company has not responded at the time of this writing. It should be noted that Android police received a response from the company without comment.

The aforementioned documents also suggest that Pei’s current known position as leader of the North Line is now being filled by someone else. Emily Dai is now the head of the north team, according to the leaked information.

Carl Pei was featured prominently in several documentaries that OnePlus released in connection with the development of the OnePlus Nord. If he is no longer responsible for this team, it would strongly suggest that he is no longer part of OnePlus.

We’ll update this article as soon as OnePlus confirms or rejects the rumor.
