Can’t find Netflix on Google TV? Join the club.

- Users report that they can no longer find Netflix on Google TV in its official application.
- This doesn’t seem to stop users from watching Netflix shows on their Chromecast with Google TV – at least not yet.
- Google would not confirm or comment on the cause of this problem if it was a permanent change or a simple bug.
Along with the latest Chromecast with Google TV streaming device came a redesigned Google Play Movies & TV app. This app is where you can find shows and movies to watch and add media to your watch list. The big advantage of this feature is that you can search across streaming providers – of which there are too many.
Unfortunately, the biggest media service of all seems no longer to be shown in the Google TV app (h / t) 9to5Google). Netflix shows and movies will still show up in the app if you search for them. However, you cannot add them to your watchlist. The Netflix service also appears to have disappeared from the service selection screen in the Google TV app.

Don’t completely freak out now: There’s still Netflix on Google TV via Chromecast. If you’ve previously connected your Netflix account to Google TV on your Chromecast, you can still view Netflix content and even access the service using the Netflix button on its remote control. You just can’t find Netflix content in the app itself.

That doesn’t actually answer any questions about it. It also doesn’t satisfy consumer concerns about how Netflix will (or won’t) work on the Google TV app in the future. Hopefully this matter will become clearer soon.
