Buy 1,700+ video games for $5 and support Black Lives Matter
There’s a good chance you’ve never heard of itch.io, a website that hosts and sells indie video games, but you have most likely heard of some of the classic video games available on the platform, games like Celeste, night in the woods and overland.
In order to raise money for the NAACP Legal Protection and Education Fund and the Community Bail Fund, itch.io is currently running a package that I have never seen before. They offer over 1,700 video games worth around $ 7,000 for a minimum donation of $ 5.
The bundle includes the classics Celeste, Night in the Woods, and A Short Hike – one of the best games released in 2019. Older classics like Super Hexagon and Octodad are also part of the package.
The money will be used to support the Black Lives Matters movement.
“We live in a time of racial injustice, inequality and police brutality against blacks,” says a statement on the itch.io website. “We hope everyone takes a stand in every way we can. We have partnered with developers across our platform to support organizations that work directly with those affected.”
So far, they have raised almost $ 7 million.
And if you’ve bought the tool and are having trouble figuring out how to choose the games to play, here’s a really useful tool to help you figure it out.
Have fun!
