TL; DR
- The OnePlus Buds Z2 leaked online again.
- This latest leak also includes specs like Bluetooth 5.2 support and stamina details.
OnePlus launched the OnePlus Buds Z last year (see above) and brings an affordable, durable, and fast-charging pair of true wireless earbuds to the table. The company is about to have a successor, and we saw the OnePlus Buds Z2 phase out last month.
More obvious details and renderings have now been dropped courtesy of GizNext, and the latest pictures show a pair of earbuds that look largely similar to the earlier pictures. The charging case seems to be identical to the previous pictures. Check out the picture below which shows the supposed day white and night black options.
In terms of specs, the OnePlus Buds Z2 offer Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, a range of 10 meters, an IP55 rating for the Buds and an IPX4 rating for the charging case. Those expecting higher quality wireless codecs might be disappointed here as the Buds supposedly only offer AAC and SBC options. Otherwise, GizNext says you get three microphones and “active noise cancellation”.
In terms of stamina, the outlet says the buds each have a 40mAh battery that allows you five hours of music playback with noise cancellation turned on. This number apparently goes up to seven hours with the noise cancellation turned off. By comparison, OnePlus said the first generation Buds Z earbuds hit five hours for music playback.
The charging case offers 27 hours of music playback with activated noise reduction, up to 38 hours with deactivated function. Either way, this is better than the claimed 20 hours of playback for the previous earbuds.
There’s no information on pricing or availability, but rumors point to a launch later this month. The original buds started at $ 50, but OnePlus could lose its job to get the same price this time around.
