The biggest Fire TV app is, of course, for Amazon Prime Video. You have to pay for it, but once you do, you’ll be able to stream thousands of TV shows and movies, including original series like the hit superhero show The Boys. Amazon Prime Video also offers a limited number of live sporting events. The truth is, if you own a Fire TV device, you have to get Amazon Prime Video.
2. IMDb TV
price: Free
In addition to Amazon Prime Video, the company also offers an ad-supported free streaming service, iMDB TV. Classic TV fans will have plenty to stream, and there are some great older and even newer films to show too. It’s even starting to branch out into original content, starting with the new Alex Rider spy series, with more to follow in 2021.

3. Twitching

Amazon also owns Twitch, the game-oriented streaming service. You can watch live or archived “Let’s Play” videos from your favorite video game streamers. But Twitch isn’t just for gamers. There is other content that you can watch as well. You can also support some popular streamers by subscribing to their channels.

Netflix is still the largest premium streaming service you can access as part of the Fire TV apps. The service is getting more and more expensive, but on the other hand it has more original content than any other service and more exclusive TV shows and movies are added every month.

The biggest feature of Hulu is that subscribers can watch new episodes of many of the latest ABC, NBC and Fox TV shows on-demand the day after they air. You can also sign up for Hulu Plus Live TV, which has many live streaming cable TV channels as well as cloud DVR for an additional charge.

New to the Fire TV app lineup is HBO Max. In addition to viewing all of the latest and greatest library content on the HBO pay cable channel, you can stream tons of other content too. News, anime and classic TV series like Friends and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air are available. You can also watch a growing number of original series and films. Best of all, from now until the end of 2021, you’ll be able to watch all of Warner Bros’ theatrical releases with their theater releases on the day of service. That starts on December 25th with Wonder Woman 1984.
7. Disney Plus

Disney Plus is an extremely affordable way to watch all Star Wars movies, all Disney animated films, most live action films and TV shows, and of course, most Marvel Cinematic Universe films. The original content is still low, but you can now watch the first two seasons of the hit Star Wars show The Mandalorian. 2021 will be an even bigger year for the service, with multiple MCU series and so much more.

Fire TV apps allow you to do more than just watch movies and TV shows on your couch. Peloton company recently launched its first TV-based app and is currently exclusive to Fire TV. If you have a Peloton bike or treadmill, you can use them and now watch the live or on-demand sessions on a much larger screen. There are also plenty of exercise videos that don’t require equipment.
9. News app
price: Free
Amazon recently launched a free news app that allows Fire TV users to access live or on-demand over networks like ABC, CBS, Bloomberg, and many more. You can also access local television news from 12 US cities. Almost 100 more cities are to be added by 2021. Best of all, you don’t need to download this app. It will appear as part of the Fire TV operating system.
10. Pandora

You can also stream your favorite music playlists using some Fire TV apps. One of the best is Pandora, which allows you to listen to its huge library of millions of songs as well as podcasts. free, with unlimited jumps when you view an ad.
