Best 4K Blu-ray player in 2020
Streaming Perhaps most people consume films these days, but there is a lot to say for the humble 4K Blu-ray Player. A hardware player offers that best picture and Sound quality available thanks to the expanded storage capacity of Blu-ray discs. That means formats like Dolby Vision, HDR10, DTS: X. and Dolby Atmos will help you TV and Sound system perform on his absolutely bestwithout having to worry about buffering, downtime, or bandwidth constraints. Most 4K Blu-ray players can also stream Netflix (some even in 4K) while all play your DVD and CD collections. Others – especially the Xbox One X and Xbox One S – will do the same play the latest games.
My four favorite 4K disc players happen to include these two Xbox consoles and a pair of Sony models – the latest from 2018. Manufacturers are keeping these players longer as their popularity wanes, but they’re still mine Top recommendations.

Among other things, the Sony UBP-X700 is state of the art in 4K Blu-ray technology thanks to its Dolby Vision compatibility. If you use a range of streaming services, Sony will reward you with solid performance at a reasonable price.

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are expected to be available in late 2020. Until then, the Xbox One X is the best one-PC option for 4K games and Blu-ray on your TV. It offers titles superior to many Xbox, as well as a full 4K HDR Blu-ray experience. (Sony’s PS4 Pro supports 4K games, but doesn’t play 4K Blu-rays.) Note that inventory on the Xbox One X has been very low in the past few weeks. Ideally, you want to find this model for $ 399 or less and along with a game (there are several bundles).

If you want 4K Blu-ray compatibility but can live without 4K gaming, the Xbox One S splits the difference in that direction and saves you a few dollars. The One S is a little easier to find than the One X – pay around $ 299 with an included game.
